This antenna kit attaches to the inside of the windshield and dramatically improves portable nav/coms transmit, receive, and VOR performance based on extensive field testing. It is portable and ideal for those who cant use an ANT-SB. Simply attaches ones own flexible antenna to inside of windshield with BNC, coax, suction cup adapter. |
Thank you David for the review of our Windshield Antenna Kit. The BNC connections should result in a positive click if the connections are within spec. While vibrations can cause suction cup loss of adhesion in some instances, the BNC connection should always be rock solid. You will find the BNC connection very tight initially as this is by design. You may find after about 10 installation cycles that the rubber duck antenna connection becomes more refined and definitive as the nubs on the BNC connector settle into their intended detent-locked position. I would be more than happy to send out a replacement free of charge as your satisfaction is paramount as well which can be coordinated through Aircraft Spruce. Thank you for the terrific review of my product too ! - Rob, Owner, A&P Mechanic, Private Pilot.
WINDSHIELD ANTENNA KIT ICOM
The product was just as advertised and Im very happy with what I received. One side note, I did notice my handheld antenna did not lock solidly in place when attached. Vibration when flying did allow it to start working itself free. Im yet to have it just fall off its attachment, but I also always check it as a pre and post flight check list. Still very pleased with the product.

The entire cable end to end is approximately 73". Yes, it is compatible with the IC-A24 handheld radio. It is designed to work with all models of Icom handheld radios.
This item is for the Icom line of handheld radios. Please see part number 11-10079 for the Yaesu equivalent.
Yes, this is to allow the antenna to have a clear view of the sky. It does not increase the power or range but should result in better reception.
As long as the radio has the standard coax connection for the antenna this will work.
Yes, it can!
If the radio itself fails, this will not allow the radio to suddenly work. It only improves performance of a working handheld radio. If you asking about your aircraft installed com radio, yes, this will give the Icom better reception in the event your aircraft com fails and you need to switch to the handheld.
The entire cable end to end is approximately 73 inches.
If that radio uses a BNC connection antenna it should work.
The difference is that P/N# 11-10079 will include P/N#'s 11-18603 and 11-10463.
