I had earlier given this prop a bad review but have since did a little experimenting with pitch blocks and tightened the belts on the reduction drive and give this prop 5 stars. Climb increased as did cruise speed. I would recommend this prop.

I started with a 60X28 wood prop on a Challenger with a 277. Grossly over-revved on takeoff. Changed to a 4 bladed UP with 11 degree pitch. Not quite enough! Went to 13 pitch. Now climbs like a home-sick angel! Just remember, the chart is for STATIC thrust, and you have to add some pitch to make it work while moving. I now have 2 Challengers with UPs on them and am building a third which will certainly have one on it. It doesn't take much power to drive a 1/32 inch leading edge thru the air! Only 4 stars due to no helix on the blade. Make sure you have the correct PSRU ratio!

I bought a 3 blade ultra prop to replace a 60 x 30 wood prop and it did not perform nearly as well as the wood prop. I used the recommended pitch blocks and my engine over revved. I have tried higher pitch blocks with marginally better performance. I am going to switch back to a wood prop.

Q: What is total weight of 2 blade Ultra-Prop?

The weight of the 2 blade Ultra-Prop is approx 5 lbs.

Q: Is this propeller suited for a Rotax 503 DCDI? Aircraft is a single place ultralight 60 to 65 mph with vne off 93.

Per the supplier: The R503 DCDI with a 2.58:1 reduction requires our 4-blade with a pitch of 16 degrees. Our 2 and 3-blade props do not have enough blade area and pitch to work on the R503.

Q: When standing behind my aircraft looking to the front the prop will turn in a clockwise direction. Is this what you are calling Right hand rotation ?

That is correct. Rotation is determined from the pilot's seat.

Q: How do I tell if I have a right hand or left hand prop?

It is determined by which way the prop rotates as seen from the pilots seat.

Q: Does this kit come with the actual propellers?

Yes, it comes as a 2-blade left hand rotation.

Q: What is the maximum hub shaft diameter?

2-1/4 inches is the hub thickness.
